ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE
GENERAL STUDIES TRANSFER PROGRAM

If you are undecided about your college major,  consider Southern Polytechnic’s general studies program. Instead of making a career choice that may affect the rest of your life before you are ready, why not keep your options open. We offer a two year program that will enable you to prepare for any major in the University System of Georgia including engineering, pre-law, pre-medicine, business or a variety of other fields. Our curriculum contains courses in the humanities, social sciences, math, and science all of which can be used to meet the requirements of the university core curriculum and/or toward an Associate of Science in General Studies degree. Our classes are smaller than those in most other public universities are, and our faculty is accessible and dedicated to teaching.

We have a modern 60,000 square foot library with an ample number of small group study rooms, a new student center, and a Recreation and Wellness Center complete with Olympic swimming pool, weight room, and handball courts. At Southern Polytechnic, you can get a great education in relatively small classes and still enjoy all the other things that make for a great college experience from Greek organizations to sports.

Southern Polytechnic State University is a senior college in the University System of Georgia, and like Georgia Tech and the Medical College of Georgia, it is a special purpose institution.
